Step into classic West Coast hip hop with Straight Checkn 'Em by Compton's Most Wanted. Originally released in 1991, the group’s second studio album puts MC Eiht’s distinctive delivery and street-level storytelling at the centre of a sound built on deep basslines and funk-driven beats.
Featuring “Growin' Up in the Hood,” “They Still Gafflin” and “Straight Checkn 'Em,” the album captures an influential chapter in Compton’s gangsta rap history. Its direct lyrics and gritty atmosphere make it a strong addition to any collection of early 90s hip hop.
