Poetry In Motion (PNM) – Staying Down In South Central

Discover an underground chapter of Los Angeles hip-hop with Staying Down In South Central by Poetry In Motion (PNM). Originally released in 1993, the album pairs D-M-D and Yahya Abdullah’s street-focused rhymes with production by West Coast pioneer and former N.W.A. member Arabian Prince.

Tracks including “Killa D's”, “Welcome To The Limit” and the title track capture the group’s harder nineties sound. Rooted in South Central, this is a rewarding discovery for collectors of independent West Coast rap.

Previously released in limited quantities on CD, the album receives its first vinyl release through SCMD Music in 2026.
